I have chosen to do my project on how large biotech companies are silencing scientists who are discovering that gmo products are not safe for human consumption. The article focuses on Dr. Seralini who published research findings in the Journal of Food and Chemical Toxicology discussing the toxic impact of Monsanto's herbicide and genetically modified corn including adverse negative health side effects on rats. After the article was published the journal removed the article. I chose this topic because currently the debate of whether or not food should be labeled as gmo is a topic that is slowly gaining momentum as public awareness is just starting to rise despite efforts to keep us in the dark.
